Terry Goldman

My name is Theresa (Terry) Goldman. For over 25 years I have been an AKC judge (#2788) approved to judge Afghan Hounds, Basenjis, Poodles (all varieties), Chinese Shar-Pei, Working Group, Best In Show, Misc Breeds and Junior Showmanship.

I was born in the Manhattan section of New York, moved to Long Island and completed my BA at the New York Conservatory. A former Rockette, Manager of Arthur Murrays Dance Studio, and free style state champion on roller skates.

Animals have always shared our lives, from small kittens to horses. I have always shared my home with pure-bred dogs - Poodles, Boxers and Danes. My sons have housed everything from tiny hamsters to the horses.

I started exhibiting pure-bred dogs with a poodle out of the late Sunny Shea's Champion Tiny Tim of Grandeau, purchased my first Great Dane in 1968, completed her championship and campaigned her - Ch. Tiara Terry's Shanee. I bred to a tight line and produced Champion The Arch Duke of Tiara Dane. At this time I house 2 Standard Poodles. Am very limited in my breeding program and only breed a litter when I want to keep a puppy for myself.

I am at a very active time in my life, with seminars, teaching anatomy, form and function, handling classes, public education and legislation with the AKC. Previous delegate, attend club functions and do give advice to help.

The sport of dogs is rewarding to me in a way that can be matched by no other sport. I have been judging since 1979 and have found people and friends around the world who have decidedly enriched my life.
